| |
|
Several buildings are planned for the Public Service facilities. |

headquarters. It includes a ready room and office for the fire
department. The police facility has an office for the watch
commander plus an interview room and a security cell. |

The Port Authority Building is a complex including the
offices of the Port Master and Cargo Controller. It is connected to
the Warehouse by a Set Down area of 2,000 sq. ft. The Port Authority
is responsible for the sale of fresh water, fuel oil and ice. The
Cargo Controller runs the warehouse and the Port Master controls the
entry and berthing of all ships. He also manages the stevedore work
that occurs with loading and unloading of cargo. There is also
a radio room and bathroom facilities. |

The Airport Terminal and Control Complex has offices for Air
Marshall Islands, international operations, ticket sales and
check-in counters. There is a passenger waiting area, luggage
collections area with air-side storage, and a transit lounge.
A snack bar and gift shop are also housed in this complex. There are
male and female bathrooms and cleaning supply & storage rooms.
The Control
Tower will include a room for air traffic control and a pilots office and
rest area.
Emergency
power is provided by a stand-by generator and there is a 2,000
gallon water tank.
Parking
facilities will handle 10 cars. |

| The Refueling Station includes a bulk storage and
loading facility and a 150,000 gallon tank farm. Eventual
expansion will bring the capacity to 500,000 gallons and also allow
the storage of aviation fuel. A pumping facility delivers fuel
oil to the dock for the fishing fleets and also provides fuel to the
power plant. The reverse flow capability allows deliveries of oil
from tankers to the fuel storage area.
Kerosene
and gasoline are transported to Rongelap Atoll in 55 gallon drums
and stored in 5,000 gallon tanks.
A filling
station is located outside the tank farm for fuel supply to cars and
trucks. |
